Parent Groups - What’s the most important job you’ll ever do as a parent and don’t receive any training for? Parenting, of course! For most of us, situations come up in parenting all the time, where we are unsure of what to do. Luckily, there are many tried and true techniques that can be of help at these times. The center will be hosting parent groups to discuss issues and provide support to families in the area of parenting. Call us for more information or to sign up.
Tutor Tips for Students:
Activities to stay in Mental Shape
1) Read everyday, at least for 30 minutes. Write about what you read.
2) Learn 1 to 5 new vocabulary words and use them daily.
3) Visit one new place every week. Try museums, nature centers, parks or music events.
4) Keep a journal of your activities, ideas and feelings.
5) Practice word problems for math. Create a math resource notebook of all the math concepts that you know.
6) Enjoy nature: take a walk, plant some seeds, listen to birds, find pictures in the clouds.
