AFSAs National High School Essay Contest for All High School Students
For the eleventh year, AFSAs National High School Essay Contest is under way. The contest is open to all high school students whose parents are NOT in the Foreign Service, so please feel free to forward this information on to any high school students you think might be interested. The 2010 essay topic is Challenges Facing the U.S. Foreign Service in the 21st Century. The winner receives a $2,500 prize and a trip to Washington, DC to meet with the Secretary of State. TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL 2009
This program was new to Carrie Children's Foundation, Inc. last year and exciting for all ages. It was an 8 week program which ended June 6, 2009. This program helped children listen carefully, build leadership skills,make new friends
as well as build self confidence in speaking. The children came to the Carrie Children's Foundation, Inc. center every
Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Graduates included; Ryan MrFadgen, Kevin Smith, Alvin Bacilio, Mariza Bacilio, Byron Hawkins, LeSean Horton, Caleb Harvey, Chris McFadgen, Kadrya Smith, and Alexa Dunn.
